(NOTE: This is the ‘rough’ outline of the Sermon I preached Sunday Morning, July 8, 2012: A Nation Gone Under.)
Ronald Reagan said at the national affairs briefing in 1980′ ”If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation, gone under.”
I don’t believe we are a nation gone under…..YET! BUT, we are on the way.BUT, we can change it!
Many negative influences:First and foremost, neglect of the word of God.Rampant sin, Immoral financial dealings, Lies and deceit
However, I want us to look at Three things that will cause us as a nation to go under:
WHEN JUDGES RULE. – Ruth 1:1
Now it came about in the days when the judges (ruled – NKJV) governed, that there was a famine in the land. (Ruth 1:1 NASB)
A. Doesn’t say, “when judges judged…” that’s what they’re supposed to do!
B. Not putting down judges, we have great judges in the land.
C. But we are allowing judges today to do what they’re not supposed to do. We are allowing judges to legislate and they’re not supposed to! 1. We have three branches of government in this land: Executive, legislative and Judicial. 2. But because we are letting our judges legislate, it doesn’t matter what the law says, it comes down to what only 9 people say! SCOTUS
a. Ten commandments – NO!
b. Bibles in military
c. Prayer in schools…NO!
D. WHAT KIND OF GOVERNMENT ARE WE? We are a constitutional, representative republic!
1. Read the first line of the declaration…….
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness…
a. Well, we’ve gotten to where it doesn’t matter what our creator says or what rights we believe He’s granted us….if a judge says we can’t……teach creation….etc……., then we can’t
b. But the declaration says we have rights from our Creator!
2. Read the first amendment!
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. a. Our founders knew that government needed to be limited!
D. What should judges do?
1. Exo. 18:16When they have a dispute, it comes to me, and I judge between a man and his neighbor and make known the statutes of God and His laws.” (Exodus 18:16 NASB)
2. 2 Chron. 19:5,6He appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city. He said to the judges, “Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD who is with you when you render judgment. (2 Chronicles 19:5, 6 NASB)
So when JUDGES RULE, a nation is in danger of going under.
A nation is in danger of going under……..
II. WHEN PEOPLE RULE – judges 17:6
In those days there was no king in Israel; every man did what was right in his own eyes. (Judges 17:6 NASB)
A. Prov. 12:15. The way of the fool….
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But a wise man is he who listens to counsel. (Proverbs 12:15 NASB)
B. Prov. 21:2. The way of a man……
Every man’s way is right in his own eyes, (Proverbs 21:2 NASB)
C. Prov. 14:12. The way of death….
There is a way which seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12 NASB) D. Our children are not being raised in the America that you and I were raised in!
1. One minister was speaking to a group of kids, young people, and he asked them, “WHAT DICTATES MORALITY?”. (I want you to think up an answer to that question!)
a. These church kids said, “Individual convictions!”.
b. but we have to have ABSOLUTES? What if the majority is wrong? What if the majority says one day that stealing isn’t wrong? You can’t have the individual dictates of individual consciences telling society what’s right and wrong behavior in the world!
c. Without ABSOLUTES, we will live in a lawless and chaotic society!
i. Do you know how we know murder is wrong? It’s an ABSOLUTE found in the Word of God in Exodus and Deut.!
OUR LAWS Are BASED ON THE WORD OF GOD….AND IF WE DON’T GET BACK TO THE WORD OF GOD, WE’RE IN TROUBLE!
E. ISA. 40:8. – The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever. (Isaiah 40:8 NASB)THAT’S OUR SOURCE OF ABSOLUTES!
1. Gods Word tells us when life begins (it’s not a fetus, IT’S A BABY!)
2. The problem today is that we are being told that to stand on the absolutes of the Word of God, is us trying to IMPOSE our values on others…..when in reality, our values have been THE values forever in this country, but now they are trying to impose their non absolute, individualistic values on us and and try to make us be quiet!
a. Dean Obadeilah – came to me…then wrote about us on CNN….
b. They are accusing us of being intolerant of them, when in reality our absolutes are just age old Biblical values of which they have become very Intolerant of themselves!
F. The only reason God shares what He does in His Word is because He loves us and He tells us those things that will be for our good.
1. Ever heard of cliff dRiving? What is cliff driving becomes popular? What if we stood and said that, “You shouldn’t drive your car off the cliff, because God says you will harm yourself and it’s wrong!”
Thirdly, we become a nation in danger of going under……
III. WHEN BELIEVERS ARE SILENT!
A. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ALLOW ANYONE TO SILENCE YOUR VOICE! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ALLOW YOUR RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN BE TROUNCED UPON WITHOUT RAISING YOUR VOICE IN PROTECTION OF THOSE LIBERTIES AND RIGHTS.
1. Never engage in hate speech!
a. AFA Hate group, they try to make me a hater…..
B. don’t think it’s unspiritual to involved in the governmental process of our country! If WE DON’T GET INVOLVED, we’re going to lose our country!

3, 2 Kings 7:9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; (2 Kings 7:9 NASB)BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST CAME, IT’S A DAY OF GOOD NEWS, But we are remaining FAR TOO silent!
3. Ester 4:14 For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not been raised up for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14 NASB)
It’s gonna affect your family if we’re silent!
4. Isa. 62:6O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls; they will pray day and night, continually. Take no rest, all you who pray to the Lord . Give the Lord no rest until he completes his work………..(Isaiah 62:6, 7 NLT)
IT’S TIME FOR BELIEVERS TO STOP BELIEVING THE POLITICAL RHETORIC THAT WE ARE TO BE SILENT ON POLITICAL ISSUES, BECAUSE MOST OF THESE “POLITICAL” ISSUES ARE SOCIAL AND MORAL ISSUES,
THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVES IN LIFE, AND BELIEVES IN FAMILY….YET, BECAUSE WE’RE NOT SPEAKING UP, WE’RE SENDING PEOPLE TO GOVERN OVER US THAT DON’T HAVE OUR SAME VALIES,
WHY ON EARTH WOULD WE SAY TO A SMALL GROUP OF PEOPLE, LISTEN YOU MAKE ALL OF THESE LAWS THAT OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN ARE GOING TO HAVE TO LIVE UNDER, AND WE’RE GOING TO STAY OUT OF THE pROCESS?
AND WHY WOULD WE SAY, AND OH YEAH, WHILE YOU’RE UP THERE MAKING ALL OF THESE LAWS THAT OUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WILL HAVE TO LIVE UNDER, WE DON’T MIND IF YOU SPEND MONEY LIKE DRUNKEN SAILORS AND GET US ALL INTO UNBELIEVABLE, NON-SUSTAINABLE, UNRECOVERABLE DEEP DEBT!
IM NOT AGAINST PAYING MY TAXES….BUT I DON’T CARE MUCH FOR THE FACT THAT THE ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF TAXES THAT WE PAY IS WASTED ON ABUNCH OF FOOLISHNESS!AND I PUBLICALLY DECLARE HERE AND NOW, STANDING WITH OTHER GREAT AMERICANS LIKE DR. JAMES DOBSON, IN MY OWN PERSONAL DECLARATION THAT I WILL NOT, MY FAMILY WILL NOT PAY ONE DIME OF THE SURCHARGES INCLUDED IN THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT THAT ARE THERE FOR ABORTION SERVICES! IT’S ONLY ONE DOLLAR PER PERSON PER MONTH, BUT THE AMOUNT DOESN’T MATTER. I WILL NOT BE ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD FOR PAYING ONE PENNY FOR THE KILLING OF INNOCENT UNBORN BABIES!
I AM ALSO A CHARTER MEMBER OF A GROUP CALLED OATH KEEPERS……Did you know that our government has spent your tax money on funding an art project through the endowment of the arts of an artist who took a Cross and put it in a jar and urinated on it? Government money, your tax money, has paid for that! Well, let me just say that in my understanding of the world, urinating is NOT art! If it is, our grandBoy went out on our deck two weekends ago and created masterpieces!
WHAT WILL CAUSE US TO BE A NATION GONE UNDER?
When Judges rule, there will a famine in the land. A famine of righteousness, rightness, and reasoned decisions.When the people rule, there will be anarchy and chaos in the land.And when Christians are silent, the IMmoral minority will decide and guide.
Don’t be silent
2. Don’t give up
3. Don’t stop praying.
4. Don’t stay out. Get involved.
5. Don’t be an alien. Be a great American citizen. Vote, call, protest, educate
BE A GREAT AMERICAN CHRISTIAN. KNOW THE WORD

TEACH THE WORD
BE UNASHAMED OF JESUS AND HIS WAY!
